Web app development · Australia

Custom web apps, with the price on the page.

SaaS products, customer portals, dashboards and internal tools — built in Next.js and Node.js by senior Australian engineers, AI-accelerated, scope-locked, from A$30,000. As far as we can tell, no other studio in Australia publishes its web-app pricing. Here's ours.

What we build

Software your business runs on.

SaaS products

Multi-tenant products with accounts, billing and an admin back end — from first paying customer to scale.

Customer portals

Self-service portals that take the phone calls out of your business: orders, documents, bookings, claims, status.

Dashboards & reporting

Live operational and financial dashboards pulling from your real systems — not another spreadsheet export.

Internal tools

The workflow apps your team actually needs: approvals, scheduling, quoting, job management, inventory.

AI-powered features

Assistants, document understanding, smart search and classification — built on production AI patterns, not demos.

Integrations

Xero, Stripe, PayTo, CRMs and the systems you already run — wired in properly, with error handling that holds up.

The stack

Boring where it counts, modern where it matters.

Our default build is Next.js and React on the front end, Node.js APIs behind it, PostgreSQL for data, deployed to AWS in the Sydney region (or the cloud you already use). It's a stack chosen for hiring depth, longevity and operational sanity — any competent engineer in Australia can pick your codebase up in a week, which matters far more to your business than whatever framework is trending this quarter.

The people writing it are senior Australian engineers — there is no offshore delivery team behind an Australian shopfront. AI acceleration is how we compress the hours: our engineers ship with AI tooling all day, which is why our prices land where offshore quotes used to, with senior oversight on every line that goes to production. You see working software every week, not a status report.

Pricing — published, like everything else here

Three tiers. Real numbers.

Search "web app development cost Australia" and you'll find calculators, ranges and "it depends". You will not find an agency price list — until now. These are our 2026 tiers.

Launch
A$30–60k
A focused product done properly — one core workflow, real users, real payments.
  • Product design + Next.js/Node build
  • Accounts, roles & login
  • One or two majors: payments, admin, dashboard
  • Typically 6–10 weeks
Standard
A$60–150k
A full product: multiple user types, integrations, reporting, admin — the tier most funded SaaS and portals land in.
  • Everything in Launch
  • Integrations (Xero, CRM, your systems)
  • Dashboards, realtime, file handling, AI features
  • Typically 10–18 weeks
Flagship
A$150k+
Complex or regulated platforms with a dedicated squad and a longer arc.
  • Everything in Standard
  • Regulated-data build patterns (health / finance)
  • Dedicated senior squad, staged releases
  • Timeline scoped in the Sprint
The scope-lock guarantee: once scope is agreed in writing, the price is fixed. If you change the scope, the price changes with it — in writing, before the work, never after. If we misjudge the effort for the written scope, the difference is our cost, not your invoice.
From range to fixed number

The Launchpad Sprint. A$3,500, one week.

Fixed-price web apps are rare for an honest reason: app scope isn't tickbox-enumerable, and any agency that quotes a fixed number before understanding your workflows is either padding heavily or planning to variation you later. Our answer is a one-week Launchpad Sprint for A$3,500: a senior engineer maps your workflows, we design the core screens, settle the architecture, and hand you a written, itemised, fixed and scope-locked quote — plus a build plan you could take to any other agency if you wanted to. If you build with us, the entire A$3,500 is credited to the project. Want a ballpark first? The two-minute quote engine gives you an honest itemised range right now, no email required.

We have compliance experience in health and finance patterns — audit trails, encryption at rest and in transit, data residency in Australia, role-based access, consent handling — and we'll tell you in the Sprint, not after the deposit, what your regulator will expect of the build. And the boring things that should be table stakes are in writing: contracts under Australian law, 100% IP assignment in plain English — code, designs, accounts, everything — backed by Digital One Agency's A$39M public liability and A$30M professional indemnity insurance.

Questions people actually ask

Straight answers.

How much does web app development cost in Australia?
At 2026 Australian senior rates: a focused first product runs A$30–60k, a full SaaS or portal with integrations and reporting runs A$60–150k, and complex or regulated platforms start around A$150k. Those are our published tiers, not industry folklore — and you can get an itemised range for your specific feature list in two minutes with our quote engine. Quotes far below that range usually mean offshore delivery, a template dressed as custom, or a scope that will grow to the real number through variations.
Why does nobody else publish web-app prices?
Because opacity is profitable. If you have to book a call to hear a number, the number can be shaped to whatever the call reveals about your budget. We think pricing in the open is a better filter: it saves you a sales meeting, it saves us unqualified calls, and it forces our estimates to be defensible. We're plainly the only Australian studio doing it for web apps — that's the point.
Is the price actually fixed?
After the Launchpad Sprint, yes — fixed and scope-locked in writing. Before the Sprint we give you an honest itemised range rather than a fake fixed number, because app scope genuinely can't be priced from tickboxes alone. The scope-lock cuts both ways: change the scope and the price changes in writing before the work; if we misjudge the effort for the agreed scope, we absorb the difference.
Who actually writes the code?
Senior engineers in Australia, working with AI acceleration under senior review. No offshore delivery team, no juniors learning on your budget. You'll know the engineers on your build by name, and you'll see their work running every week in a Friday demo.
Can you build AI features into my app?
Yes — assistants, document understanding, smart search, classification and vision are a priced line on our quote engine (A$12–30k depending on depth). We build on production AI patterns: evaluation before launch, guardrails, cost controls and fallbacks, so the feature behaves the same in month six as it did in the demo.
What about health or finance compliance?
We build to regulated-data patterns when the project needs them: Australian data residency, encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging, role-based access and consent handling. It's a priced tier on the quote engine (A$20–45k on top of the build) because it's real engineering work — and we'll tell you during the Sprint exactly which obligations apply to you, before you commit to the build.
Do I own the code?
All of it — 100% IP assignment in plain English, on final payment: source code, designs, infrastructure configuration and the accounts they live in. Contracts are under Australian law with Digital One Agency (ABN 82 307 630 720), which carries A$39M public liability and A$30M professional indemnity insurance.
